Fun Things To Do

Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower Visit

There’s something very special about getting to know more about the city that you live in. A few weekends ago I decided to take a trip to the Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower for the art gallery and clock tower tour and presentation.

I walked into the foyer of the building and purchased a ticket for the history presentation and tour. With time to spare before the presentation, I made my way up the staircase and was able to enjoy the work of the resident artists on various floors of the building as well as music from local musicians during the open mic performance. *

After exploring the art exhibitions, I sat down in a cozy room lined with chairs for the history presentation. The presentation brought to life the story of Bromo Seltzer, an antacid first produced in the last 1880’s, it’s creator, Isaac Emerson, and the towers history. The tour commenced with a climb up to the 16th floor into the industrial mechanical clock room, a view that every local and visitor should see. It was an afternoon well spent learning more about one of Baltimore’s most unique buildings and its history.

Every Saturday from 12-4 PM visitors can visit the tower, tour the galleries, and participate in the clock tower tour/presentation.

The open mic, known as Sounds of the Tower, is scheduled for every 2nd and 4th Saturday.
